Sydney Silveira (Father is GCSANC Member Member Lou Silveira)
My father Louie Silveira has been a member of the GCSANC for over thirteen years in support of the golf industry, but he has been supportive of me and my goals for all eighteen years of my life. My dad and I are very close and I can always count on him for words of advice or a funny joke. Having been the first person in his family to go to college, he has always instilled in me the drive to follow a similar path and the confidence that I can accomplish all that I set my mind to. As a first-year undergraduate Biology major, I have been able to further bond with him over my struggles in chemistry, my favorite laboratory experiments, and my overall college experience. From tagging along with him to work on days when I was out of school on break to eventually securing my own position at Castlewood Country Club as a summer camp counselor I have grown up getting to see the hard work that he puts into his job on a daily basis. His membership in GCSANC is just one example of his involvement in his career and I look up to him as a father, friend, and professional.
Jaime Salazar
In the beginning of this year, I gave myself a goal in five years to have obtained a Bachelor’s degree or be close to one. Also, I want to apply for Superintendent positions at high end courses. I believe in myself and my work ethics that I can get it done.

Hopefully I will graduate and start helping people with mental issues, specifically focused on pre-teen and teenagers.
Makenna Tarsitano (Father is GCSANC Member Perry Tarsitano)
When I look at my future, I have countless plans and ambitions. I am currently a 200-hr certified yoga instructor, and I hope to be able to take my knowledge and experience with yoga and combine it with business, to one day create a wellness studio focused on yoga offering a place for the community to empower themselves. I will be attending University of San DIego where I will study sociology and entrepreneurship, and by merging these two studies wI will be able to understand people’s social patterns so that I can create a business focused on allowing people a space to prioritize their wellbeing. However, after I graduate from college I intend to hit the ground running in terms of starting my own business. My future goals genuinely excite me, and I am so grateful for current and future opportunities that will bring me closer to achieving these goals.
Stephanie Dalhamer (Father is GCSANC Member Chris Dalhamer)
I have always considered myself athletic. In my lifetime I have competitively participated in basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, and dance. But what is the one sport that I have never played? Golf. Is that a coincidence? I don’t know. My father, the director of greens and grounds at MPCC, was raised with three brothers and a father all of whom played golf. My father has been intertwined with the golf industry his entire adult life and as a byproduct, I have as well. Many people say that athleticism runs in the Dalhamer family, ranging from my uncles and aunts to my cousins, and of course to me and my two sisters.
By the age of five, I both started and loved basketball, soccer, and gymnastics. Then, at 7 years old my dad bought me a personalized set of pink clubs, a pink and white golf bag, and a little name tag in the shape of a club. Despite mu parents’ ability to influence little Stephanie, I was immediately uninterested in golf. As time went on, my father continued to encourage me to develop a connection with the sport of golf. It is nearly 15 years later, and I have still never touched a golf club. Sometimes I wonder why the world is like this. I was born into a world of golf, grass, and tournaments but not a bone in my body desired to play. Although I have not personally pursued anything surrounding the golf industry, I have grown a vast appreciation for everything it encompasses. Even though I was not destined to play golf, the industry itself has inspired me to graduate with a BS in Business Management and a Leadership minor.
Thanks to my father I have witnessed the nuances of running countless major tournaments (US Opens and PGA events) while leading and inspiring people to follow their dreams. Whether your’e playing golf, commentating on TV, raking the bunkers, moving the grass, or selling the fertilizer everyone plays an important role. The golf industry is one cohesive community that supports and admires the individual rules of each person. Throughout my life I have observed the golf industry through my father’s lens. I have experienced his (and many others) true love, passion, and dedication for the work that they do. As I continue to grow and develop as a human, I can only hope to find a path as fulfilling as golf is to my father.
